KIPRIassistant

Roadmap

Where Kipri is heading

I want Kipri to become a real personal assistant: one that remembers your plans, suggests what to do and takes some of the work off your hands. This page lays out what already works today, what I am building now and where the app goes next.

Checked against the app:

Works now

All of this is in the app. You can download it and check.

  • Answers to his nameSay “Kipri” and keep talking without touching the screen. The wake word is turned on in settings.
  • Understands plain speechCreates, moves, completes and deletes reminders, tasks and birthdays, and adds items to the shopping list.
  • Asks backIf you leave out the time, Kipri asks for it.
  • Talks you through the dayAnswers “what is on today?” and “what are my plans for tomorrow?”, and in the morning sends one short digest instead of a string of notifications.
  • Notices what is stuckHe can open with an observation: “Overdue reminders: 3. Show them?”. This can be turned off.
  • Remembers the conversationHe does not repeat the same lines, and in the assistant window Kipri has expressions: thinking, happy, sometimes confused.
  • Works offlineReminders are scheduled on the phone itself and fire with no connection.

Building

Work is under way. No dates: it ships when it is ready.

  • iPhone versionThe same Kipri and the same sections as on Android.
  • A livelier KipriThe character will respond to your day: notice how things are going, change mood with the time of day and grow along with you.
  • Kipri on your watchReminders and voice on your wrist, so you do not have to reach for the phone.

Next

This is a direction. The order depends on what works out and what you ask for.

  • Actions in other appsAsk Kipri to set an alarm, call and book an appointment, or send an email.
  • Kipri plans for youSuggests when to do a task, helps sort out an overloaded day and moves leftovers forward.
  • Real conversationToday phrases are parsed by hand-written rules, there is no neural network in Kipri. I want him to understand complex requests and hold a real dialogue.
  • Bring your data overBirthdays from contacts, events from your calendar and tasks from other to-do apps.

You help decide what comes next

I build KIPRI on my own and use it every day. What gets done first depends on the emails I get: what is missing, what gets in the way. If you want Kipri to learn something, write to me. I post what has shipped in the development log and on the Telegram channel.

Take Kipri with you

The free plan runs the whole app. Limits only start where serious volume starts.
