Send your users to the notification check

Users tell you that notifications from your app do not arrive, and the cause is autostart and battery settings on their phone. Give them a link: it opens a list of steps for their brand, with your app name in every path.

What the user sees

A list of steps for their brand and Android version: the notification permission, exact alarms, battery, autostart, sleeping apps. The brand is detected from the phone and can be changed. Where the paths say "the app you need", your name is shown instead.

The page works without sign-up. Ticks for completed steps stay in the user’s browser.

Where to put the link

In your help section, in a support reply to "notifications do not arrive", on the notification settings screen inside the app. If you know the user’s phone brand, pick it above: the link will open the right page straight away.

What we learn about your users

The app name from the link is not recorded on our server: the counter only notes that someone arrived by a link with another app, and which phone brand they picked. The counter is our own, with no cookies and no third-party services.

Where the steps come from

The paths are checked against manufacturers’ help pages and the Android documentation. Item names change between shell versions, so the page shows the date of the last check. If something differs on your phone, write to us and we will fix it.

The data as one file

The steps, the paths per brand and the reasons are in an open JSON file, in English and Russian. You can build them into your own app or help centre. The licence is CC BY 4.0: link back to the source.
