What Doze is in Android

Doze is a sleep mode that Android has had since version 6. The phone lies still, the screen is off, it is not charging: the system puts it to sleep and batches the background work of apps into rare windows.
Per the Android documentation, apps lose network access in this mode, and the phone leaves it when it is picked up, the screen is turned on or it is put on charge.
Doze does not cancel an exact alarm: a reminder set with the exact alarms permission fires in this mode too. Since version 9 Doze has been joined by standby buckets: the less often you open an app, the less often it is allowed to work in the background.
