What exact alarms are in Android

Exact alarms is a permission that lets an app fire at the appointed second. In settings it is called "Alarms & reminders".
It appeared in Android 12: from that version a user can revoke it for any app. Without the permission the system treats the reminder as inexact and shifts it.
Why it matters
Without this permission the system is free to move a reminder: inexact alarms get batched, and the phone wakes once for all of them, sometimes a minute later, sometimes fifteen. Since Android 14 it is no longer granted automatically even to apps that declare it at install time.
