Comparison

KIPRI or Todoist

Todoist is a mature task manager for every platform and for teams. KIPRI is an Android app for reminders, birthdays and habits. Where they overlap, the difference is noticeable.

This comparison was written by the KIPRI developers. We tried to be fair: everything about the other app comes from its own help pages, and what it does better is listed separately.

KIPRI suits you if

  • you need recurring reminders on Android without a paid plan
  • birthdays with early alerts and a habit tracker matter, in the same app

Todoist suits you if

  • you need tasks on your computer, in the browser and on iPhone
  • you work in a team or share projects with family
  • you need repeats like «every 12 hours» or «last workday of the month»

The main difference is recurring reminders

A Todoist due date can repeat in almost any way, but a reminder about it is another matter. Todoist’s help says plainly that recurring reminders are not supported in the Android app and should be added from the web or desktop app. They are also a Pro and Business feature. The free plan keeps automatic reminders.

In KIPRI a recurring reminder is created on the phone and works on the free plan. There are fewer repeat options though: no «every N days» and no «last workday».

Where Todoist is clearly stronger

Every platform with sync, shared projects, widgets, location reminders, filters and years of polish. If your tasks live both on your phone and on a work computer, KIPRI will not cover that: it has no desktop version.

About paying from Russia

Google paused the Google Play billing system for users in Russia on 10 March 2022, so Todoist Pro cannot be bought through Play from Russia. KIPRI has no paid plans on sale at all, and the free plan is meant to be used as it is.

What people usually ask

  • What can replace Todoist on Android?

It depends on what you use it for. If the main thing is recurring reminders, birthdays and habits on one phone, KIPRI covers that. If you also need tasks on a computer, on an iPhone or in a team, KIPRI will not replace it: it only has an Android app.

  • Can I set a recurring reminder in Todoist on Android?

According to Todoist’s help, no: recurring reminders are not supported in the Android app, they are added from the web or desktop app, and it is a paid-plan feature.

  • Can I move my tasks from Todoist to KIPRI?

There is no import. Tasks have to be moved by hand or by voice.
