One reminder on the day is not enough: by then it is too late to buy a present. In KIPRI one date gets several alerts, for example a week before, three days before and on the morning of the birthday.
Birthdays, plus, name and date. If you know the year, the app works out how old the person is turning. If not, the date is saved without a year and the age is simply not shown.
Options: on the day, 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days before, and you can tick several. There are ready sets: «on the day only», «standard» (a week, three days and on the day) and «early» (7, 3, 1 day and on the day).
Every entry has a notes field. It is a handy place to collect present ideas through the year, when the person mentions something, instead of guessing the day before.
The phrase «Mum’s birthday on March 12» creates the entry. By voice you can also ask whose birthdays are coming up and mark that you have already said happy birthday.
A birthday reminder has two different jobs. The first is to have time for a present, and that needs a few days of margin. The second is not to forget to say happy birthday, and that needs an alert on the day. One alert only covers one of them.
If the morning digest is on and arrives no later than 9:00, the separate «birthday today» push is not duplicated: the name will be in the digest. The «N days before» alerts arrive either way.
Yes, one of the options is «30 days before». You can tick it along with others, for example 30 days, a week and on the day.
No. Notifications are scheduled on the phone itself and fire without a network. The internet is needed to sign in and to sync entries between devices.
The date is saved without a year. Reminders work the same, the app just does not show the age.
